Next, you will attend the in-person training class where Taylor will guide you from beginning to end, ensuring that you are equipped with the knowledge, tools and confidence to perform at the highest level.

SMP Training Course in Connecticut. Duration is 2 days and available in the CT Barber Exposition from beginner and advanced SMP levels. The program includes hands-on experience with live models and a workbook for future reference. Areas covered during the training include but are not limited to:

  • Preventing cross-contamination
  • Preparing a client for the procedure
  • Setting up and breaking down a workstation
  • Selecting the proper needle size
  • Mixing ink and following the color theory
  • Layering colors
  • Dot work and blending techniques
  • Measuring and creating different hairlines (barber-style straight & natural hairlines)
  • Performing SMP on clients with long hair
  • After-care in between sessions and for after the procedure is complete
  • Fixing and blending botched work
  • Advice on pricing services, overview of supplies needed
  • Blueprint on how to create your own brand
  • Social Media strategy crash course and how to create content

Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of completion from Taylor Perry Studios.
